SIM Card Types and Sizes
Three main types and sizes of SIM cards: Nano SIM, Micro SIM, and Standard SIM. The difference is the size of the border around the chip.
- Nano SIM: Standard size for modern smartphones
- Micro SIM: Used with iPhone 4/4S and older Android phones
- Standard SIM: Obsolete, used with older phones and less high-tech models of devices
Inserting the SIM Card into your device
- Power off the smartphone
- Locate the SIM card tray on the side of your phone (The SIM card tray has a small hole in it which is used to pop the tray out)
- Using a SIM Removal Tool, pop the tray out by pushing into the hole. You can also use a paperclip or pushpin depending on the size.
- Pull the SIM card tray out (Make note of how the SIM card tray was inserted into the phone)
- Set your SIM card into the tray. There is a small notch on one of the corners and the card will only fit one way
- Push the SIM tray back into the phone. It only fits one way and should go in easily - don't force it.
- Power on the device and the Carrier Information should then activate
